19/01/08 - Again with Mike’s assistance, some more steel goes up...

18/01/08 - Good old block and tackle.  This steel which is a 203x133x30 (first two numbers are depth x width in mm, the last is the weight is kg/m length) is 4.6m long and weighs .(30 x 4.6 =) 138kg.  This is near the limit for my home made block and tackle.

18/01/08 - The first of the steels go in.  This one forms the R/H side of the double garage door. The top of the RSJ (or UB) is temporarily secured with a leg of scaffold and a ratchet strap.

18/01/08 - The steels arrive

13/01/08 - The lower platform is for getting the 1st floor floor beams in and the two elevated platforms at each end are to get the ridge beam in.  Using the steel allows a vet thin but very strong 1st floor floor (5”). So we can store lots of stuff up there!

11/01/08 - Garage scaffolding up (Thanks Mike).  This will allow us to get the steel in without a crane.
